Skylights Melbourne

Skylights are a great way to enhance your home. Installed correctly they can add thousands to your properties value and make a huge difference to the atmosphere of a room. While used to increase ambient light in a room, a skylight can also enormously change the feel and look of your decor.

Different types of skylights will produce different amounts and types of light but careful consideration is requires as light is generally associated with heat. So while you are brightening your room up you also risk increasing the rooms temperature beyond what is comfortable on warmer days.

Our consultants will be happy to work in with you to create the perfect look. We are qualified roof plumbers and tilers our installation expertise is second to none. You can be confident in the performance of your new skylights for decades to come, and that’s guaranteed.

Double Glazed Skylights

Harrison’s Home Improvements manufacture and install a wide range of skylights with an emphasis on energy efficiency. Our “Skyview” insulated skylights are double glazed units that come in a range of appealing tints. The argon filled glass panes greatly reduce heat loss and gain and the tinted glass reduces the amount of radiant heat generally associated with skylights.

The open shaft is built by us in solid timber and lined with a plaster finish and will add a stunning feature to a room as well as opening it up and making the room feel larger. You can opt for a traditional vertical shaft with a uniform width or have it slanted at an angle. We can even build a flanged shaft that widens at the bottom giving the room an “open” feel.

Polycarbonate Skylights

Harrison’s Home Improvements also manufacture traditional skylights which are economically priced. Once again the emphasis is on energy efficiency so rather than single skin fibreglass or plastics we use a “twin wall” polycarbonate sheet for the external panel.  This fluted double panel ensures minimal heat loss in winter while also reducing heat intake in summer.

The shaft is a flexible reflective reinforced foil that enhances available light and is capped off by a diffuser designed to direct the light around the room.
